Kid Magnet
Well Deena has left her mark on the world. She is a definite kid magnet, and I took her to church today. I sing in the choir, so I decided after the main Christmas Cantata this evening I would share her with the kids. What a hit she was. ALL the kids were enamored and couldn't stop playing with and touching the Pleo. They wanted to hold it, give it its leaf, and just watch it toddle around. (Which won excited squeals of glee.) Most interesting is that Deena made new sounds and she explored longer in this larger environment. Did UGOBE intend this? I don't know. Even with the "basic" program they have it running on now, it's still amazing. I can only look forward to the upgrade in 2008 with much anticipation and a huge smile on my face. I left the church today thinking, "Wow, Pleo is great. Ugobe is amazing." I was told by the church choir director, Linda (who adored Pleo by the way) that it's great to have around kids. I agreed but I thought it would be even better for therapy. Imagine how Pleo would make kids in a hospital feel. Or autistic children. It could help them open up and even overcome some of their problems. If nothing else, Pleo can help cheer people up and make them smile.
I think Deena will be visiting the church more often. :) The best part of this adorable little robot is sharing it with others.

Deena and her Introduction
Well on December 20th of 2007, I received my little Pleo. It took a while to decide what to name it and what gender if "felt like", but after a time I got the distinct feeling it was female, and I named it Deena. I couldn't get that name out of my head, it just popped in there and stuck. And she seems to like it! I will be coming up with some (safe) jewelry for Deena. I may even by her a sparkly necklace. Yes, I'm serious. If I can find a little "diamond" necklace with a D initial, how perfect would that be? LOL Here is my first video of Deena that I took today.
