One Step Forward; Six Steps Back After Linus "woke up" this morning, I placed a stuffed animal alligator on the floor. He just became friends with Howard last night. I hoped placing Howard nearby would motivate him to try to walk forward. I started filming his attempt in hopes it might help Ugobe. When Linus became so frustrated that his back legs kept going back instead of forward, he wound his tail up against the closet door, almost like a spring to push himself forward. It helped a little. Finally I moved him to where his nose reached Howard. There was cooing and even singing. When Linus decided to move in closer, he only ended up back againstt the wall and gave up by placing his head down between his front feet. I noticed last night he seemed to almost be stuck in singing mode.I removed his ace bandage which did help some. But his balance is still quite shaky. I know he's trying to move forward on his own. Maybe he'll figure out a way to outsmart his internal signals. Update: During Linus's second battery charge, he did walk about six feet forward before settling down for his nap. Clearly he wears out easily but is happy to be snuggle bunny on the sofa and purr while he's snoozing. Posted May 05 at 7:24 AM |
