Here at Innvo Labs we've seen Pleo continuing his evolution—he alters his attitude and emotions based on how he's interacted with. A happy Pleo is one who receives a lot of attention while a sad Pleo is one who is neglected or abused.
Pleo is exploring the world a lot more. We have spent time re-training Pleo how to see and detect objects and properly navigate around them.
Pleo's making new and different sounds around here lately. Many of them pretty funny!
Being the social butterfly that he is, Pleo is listening for sounds even while resting. You may wake him up...and he'll want to join in on the fun.
You will also notice that Pleo might occasionally get sick—coughing and sneezing! Nurse him back to health by giving him lots of love, attention and feeding him his leaf.
Pleo has learned a new trick—he knows how to sit. Try holding his chin and rear at the same time. Help him back by pushing down on his backside; don't forget to help him up when you want to keep playing.
Petting Pleo on his chin for a long period of time will coax him to sing—after which he will remember the song he stopped on and use it to call for attention. Also, pairs and groups of Pleos have surprised us with some new singing abilities...
Pleo can now visibly see his Training Leaf so he will respond accordingly.
Users will be able to change the way Pleo walks. A high-step versus casual gait allows for Pleo to more easily traverse difficult terrain such as high carpet. To engage this new walk, simply hold Pleo's front legs and touch his Pleo button. He will continue using this walk until the user reverses the command.
Pleo has been picking up some strange habits as of late too. We've seen itchy feet and excessive chewing. What's your Pleo up to?

| > Why is it called 1.1 rather than 1.0.3? |
|
|
The underlying firmware has been updated in this 1.1 release to enable some of the new evolutionary features you will see. That's also why you will need an updated version of the Holiday download and Love-Struck download as well as updated third party applications to run with 1.1. |

| If you hold your Pleo by the head or tail for extended periods of time, Pleo will be scared and upset, and may become depressed if you continually abuse him. |

| The Pleo Updater is a free desktop application provided by Innvo Labs that enables Pleo users to update their Pleo software. Visit the Updates section of the website for more information. |

| > What memory capacity do you recommend for the SD card? |
|
|
| You should use an SD card with at least 32MB of available memory. This small amount of memory is fine. Tthere is no need for a large SD card, and in fact, huge SD cards don't necessarily operate as well in Pleo. We recommend a card of less than 1 GB in capacity. |

| > How do I know when Pleo's software needs to be updated? |
|
|
When there is a new update for Pleo's software, Pleo owners will be notified in a number of ways: registered owners will be notified via email that an update is available and a notice will also be placed on PleoWorld.com. This is another good reason to be sure to register your Pleo at PleoWorld. |

| > What software is included inside Pleo? |
|
|
| Pleo software includes the Life OS (his underlying firmware) as well as a Personality Module (PM) which provides Pleo's extensive capabilities. Each layer of Pleo's software will be updated when needed. The Pleo Developers Kit (PDK) enables the creation of new applications for Pleo, but not modifications to the core OS or firmware. |

| > What is the cost of the Pleo software updates? |
|
|
| Pleo software releases that contain bug fixes and feature enhancements from Innvo Labs will be offered free of charge. In addition, all required software updates will be free as well. Software releases that contain major new features will be priced accordingly. |

| > Are the software updates optional or required? How often will they be available? |
|
|
| From time to time there will be updates to the Pleo software to provide enhancements to functionality as well as bug fixes. Registered users will be notified via email and notice will be posted on the PleoWorld.com home page. Innvo Labs will inform owners as to whether the update is optional or strongly recommended and what has changed. |

| > How do I get Pleo to play tug-of-war? |
|
|
Updating the software inside your Pleo is very easy and quick. Simply go to the Firmware Updates area on PleoWorld.com. Here you can choose to download either a Mac or PC version of the Updater to your computer. Open the Pleo Updater and a wizard will take you through the simple steps to update Pleo's software. You can also download a short document that will take you through the step-by-step instructions.
1.Connect: Be sure that your Pleo is turned on, the battery is charged, and Pleo is connected to your computer with the appropriate USB cable ("Mini-B connector into Pleo and Type A connector into your computer")
2.Agree: Review and agree to the Software License Agreement; and then
3.Update: Click Update and the software will be loaded into your Pleo. This process will take 5 - 10 minutes.
4.Restart: Your Pleo will then be automatically restarted, and the new software will be in place. |

| > Where do I get the USB cable? |
|
|
| Use any USB 2.0 A to Mini-B data cable. There is one in the original package for Pleo. Plug the Type A (large) connector into your computer and the Mini-B (small) connector into the USB port in Pleo's belly. |

| > What if I don't have either of the Macintosh or Windows versions that are supported? |
|
|
If your operating system is not yet supported by the Pleo Updater (e.g. Linux), you have two options: If you have an SD card reader/writer, you can download the latest version of the Pleo software from the Pleoworld Support & Updates area on the Updates page, write that to your own SD card, and insert that card in Pleo's SD card slot (on the belly). The software will automatically update.
If you don't have access to an SD card reader/writer, you can contact customer support. to request a Pleo Software Update Kit, which will be shipped to the home address in your registration. This free kit contains an SD card that you can insert into Pleo's SD card slot (on the belly) to automatically update the software.
Please let customer support know which operating system your computer is running so that we can consider adding it into future versions of the Pleo Updater. |

| > How do I get Pleo to walk more easily on carpet in this release? |
|
|
| Pleo is tackling more difficult terrain such as high carpet by using a specially triggered "high-step" mode. To trigger this new walk, hold Pleo's front legs and touch his Pleo button. He will keep using this walk until you reverse the command by touching the same sensors again or by powering Pleo off and then on again. (Replacing Pleo's battery will also reset the command.)
